"Overcomers" Youth Group: Sundays 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Students from 7th-12th grade comprise Shiloh's "Overcomers" youth group. This fun program focuses on discipleship and friendship through mini devotions, activities, games, and laughter. We encourage all middle and high school students to come out and bring their friends. The evening is broken down into a 15-minute devotion, 15-minute "Yak and Snack" (talking and food), and an hour of games and activities.
All of our youth group activities are geared towards helping our teenagers stand firm in their love for Christ in this troubled world. By being exposed to Christian events and activities involving other Christian teens and leaders, our youth learn that they are not alone! Examples of activities include:
- Valentine's Banquet - At this annual event, the youth serve dinner and entertain the church family. Proceeds are applied towards meeting the costs of youth missions trips.
- Mission Trips - Each summer our youth participate in one or more mission trips.
- "Thinking of You" Baskets - Our youth groups make and deliver baskets to those who are sick, shut-in or patients in area nursing homes. This helps teach our youth that home missions are important too.
- Youth Convention - Our youth attend the annual "Acquire the Fire" youth convention and come home fired up to serve Jesus.
