Our Affiliations

As established in Article IV ("General Provisions") of our Constitution, Shiloh Baptist Church is affiliated with the following organizations:

Southern Baptist Convention Since its organization in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to over 16 million members who worship in more than 42,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor about 5,000 home missionaries serving the United States, Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations of the world.

The term "Southern Baptist Convention" refers to both the denomination and its annual meeting. Working through 1,200 local associations and 41 state conventions and fellowships, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.

Baptist General Association of Virginia The Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) was established in 1823 and it has always existed to “furnish the Baptist churches of Virginia a medium of cooperation for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and for the advancement of the Redeemer's Kingdom by all methods in accord with the Word of God.”

Almost two centuries later the BGAV is missionary to the core. Last year almost 5,000 members from BGAV churches volunteered for missions projects in and beyond Virginia. Several dozen new churches were started. Thousands were baptized by the BGAV’s 1,400 churches.

Fredericksburg Area Baptist Network Founded in 1956, the Fredericksburg Area Baptist Network (FABN) is a local coalition of Baptist churches from the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia and the surrounding counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. The FABN allows local churches the opportunity to participate in missionary, education and benevolent ministries for the extension of Christ's Kingdom. FABN has grown to nearly 50 local churches and two mission churches.
